Strange Alloy Axles are manufactured by Strange from premium alloy steel forgings. Each alloy axle is induction hardened to its optimal hardness with Strange designed tooling. Alloy axle splines are hobbed to theproper involute spline form- before heat treatment. Custom Strange Alloy Axles are made with a giant 1.5635" axle bearing diameter and bearing shoulder radius is precisely machined to accept a special radius ring that minimizes stress concentrations in the bearing area. Strange provides a billet aluminium brake register to properly locate the center of your disc/drum brake system.

Alloy axles are offered in 28, 30, 31, 33 and 35 spline applications. Shafts up to 31-spline are ideal for street applications with the use of posiunits, lockers, and helical differentials. It is always recommened to use the largest shaft as possible. For instance, If you own a 9" rear end and are considering purchasing a differential for a stock" type case then you should always upgrade to 31-spline components from 28-spline- since the axles are identical in price and most often the differentials are similar in cost.
Although our 28-spline Alloy axle is stronger than OEM 28-spline shafts- 28-spline alloy axle shafts are significantly (38%) torsionally weaker in comparison to 31-spline alloy axles. We strongly recommend to upgrade to 31-spline axle shafts for street applications. Strange Alloy 33 and 35-spline axles are able to withstand high torque and bending loads. 35-spline alloy axles are ideal for street and/or strip applications and may be used with lockers, trac-loks, helical differentials and spools (spools are not for street use). Strange also offers alloy c-clip style axles for OEM applications, as well as direct replacement axles for popular applications.

https://enginemaster.com.au/products/strange-sta3100-street-strip-induction-harden-axles-suit-ford-28-31-33-spline-sold-as-pair-s
