Brute, honest horsepower that will leave others in your rear view mirror. Our Blueprint 396 engines are produced from seasoned 350 blocks bored .040" over.
There's only one way to prove horsepower, and make sureBlueprint hand-assembled engines are perfect - run them on a performance dyno.They make surethey hitthe target horsepower, verify thatthey have the proper torque and break the new engine in.Blueprint use a computerized balancer to gettheir rotating assemblies within 2 grams. That assures silky smooth power over the entire RPM range.
  • 4 bolt main 1pc rear seal block w/rhs dipstick only
  • Square and parallel decked
  • Align honed main bearing bore
  • Cylinders honed on computer controlled machine to within .0002 straightness and roundness
  • Cylinders are sonic tested for thickness
  • New forged steel crankshaft
  • New forged pistons
  • Hastings Moly rings
  • Balanced rotating assembly
  • Melling high volume oil pump
  • Heavy duty double roller timing set
  • Long slot, stamped steel rockers
  • New aluminium cylinder heads, 195cc Runner, 2.02" / 1.60" swirl polished intake & exhaust valves
  • Hardened retainers and springs

  • Brass welch plugs
  • Hydraulic Roller Cam: .544" I / .554" E & 230° I / 236° E duration @ .050
  • 485hp / 500 ft-lbs torque
  • 10.4 to 1 Compression ratio
  • 34 degrees at 4000 RPM Ignition Timing
  • Dyno tested
  • Crate Engine includes Valve covers, oil pan and timing cover.
  • Harmonic balancer, Flexplate, Intake manifold, Carburettor, Distributor and Ignition leads are not included.
