These B&M neutral/reverse safety switches are the perfect safety devices for your car. They will only allow your car to start when it is in park or neutral, not while it is in gear. If it starts in gear, you can imagine the damage that could be done. They can also be used to turn on your backup lights when your car is in reverse.
