Brian Tooley Racing RING COMPRESSOR - 4.065 - BTR -RC4065 One-piece aluminum tapered ring compressors have been around for some time, but BTR has made a significant improvement to the design. Rather than relying on the piston skirt to locate the pistons as they're being inserted into the block like one-piece tapered ring compressors currently on the market, the new BTR ring compressors have a small but very important reverse chamfer at the bottom that fits into the chamfer at the top of the block which serves two functions. First, it locates the ring compressor exactly over the center of the hole. And, secondly, it reduces the chance of the oil ring getting caught between the ring compressor and the top of the block. The laser etching on a black background is easy to read and looks good even after use. In our beta testing against competitors tapered ring compressors, the BTR was easier to use and never caught an oil ring between the compressor and the block. Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) – the story Brian Tooley has been in the performance racing game for nearly three decades. Starting his own business back in 1992 called Total Engine Flow, Brian was using a Flowdata flow bench. Shifting to Holley Performance Products shortly afterwards, he helped develop the SysteMax head, intake and camshaft packages. Going back to working on his own in 1996 until 2004, Tooley then built Total Engine Airflow into an industry titan. Since then he sold his business to Summit Racing Equipment and stayed on until 2010 when he decided to be closer to family and friends. As his BTR webpage revealed, it wasn’t long before Brian was back after seeing a need for quality spring kits at affordable prices.
