MSD puts their years of experience to work in making these top-notch iron distributor gears. Their high grade, ductile iron is micro polished for a smooth and scuff-free finish then Melonite QPC coated to reduce friction and initial wear. Excessive clearance causes timing fluctuation throughout the rpm range, resulting in lost horsepower, so MSD also designed these oversized gears for tighter mesh between the camshaft and distributor drive gears.


Notes -

When installing a new distributor gear in an AMC V8, it is highly recommended to also install a new camshaft mounted, distributor drive gear. This gear is only drilled on one side. You will need to install it on the shaft and line up the hole in the gear with that of the shaft. Finish drilling the hole with a 3/16" drill bit then install the new roll pin. Be sure to thoroughly clean the shavings away before installing the distributor.
